John Spradlin

Hi everybody, here it is:

After graduating high school, I went to college for 2 years before I joined the Navy. In the Navy, I was on a rescue and salvage ship and was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. While on the Navy I visited Panama and Alaska among other places. My last year in the Navy I met my wife, who was at the time traveling with some friends in Hawaii. My wife, Merav, who was born and raised in Israel, also served in the Israeli army for 2 years. About a year later we got married in Hawaii. Needless to say we try to travel to Israel every couple of years to visit the family.

After I got out of the Navy we returned to Kansas and went to Emporia State University. I graduated with a degree in Biology and my wife graduated with an accounting degree. We then moved to Wichita and I worked for an environmental company as a Chemist and my wife worked for Koch Industries. After about 6 months I accepted a promotion and was transferred to San Jose, California. We love California, and we couldn’t think of a better place to live. We have 2 beautiful boys – Ethan (4) and Jude (2). They keep us real busy, that’s for sure. They love to go to the beach and of course to the San Jose Sharks hockey games.

I have changed jobs a couple of times since we moved to California and am currently working for Advanced Chemical Transport Inc., managing a group of chemists and technicians that handle chemicals and hazardous materials for Applied Materials. My wife is a CPA and a partner at a CPA firm here in California. We love San Jose; you just can’t beat the weather here.

We can’t wait to see everyone at the 20th reunion.
